Yeah, we actually caved in and put that profile up a couple weeks ago. This thread was started in July of 2004, and it seems like their policies have changed since then, so ours might shift as well. Our friends and models seem to have their profiles deleted a lot less often, and to be honest, I'm actually kind of more comfortable with that site now that it is a big corporate entity.

We are currently re-evaluating the BlueBlood My_Space policy, which isn't to say it will change, but it's worth giving some current thought.

I still wouldn't want people just sort of drive by spamming, 'see me on *******, here is my link...' Obviously, I'd much rather have them participate in a real conversation over here, but that's just a matter of having some consideration really.

(The site that I will refer to as) IT started out as a decent idea. Kinda like Indie 103.1 out in LA. As I have always said, with big money comes a corruption of ethics. It's not a surprise. Ever since the actual "Tom" sold off ownership to that corporation a lot has changed. Things like forced advertising (including occasional pop-ups) have made the site less enjoyable. But, for most people, it's become a primary source of communication online. Most people I know only use their email for a tiny fraction of what they used to in comparison to IT. But I agree, their rules are interpretive. It's ok for some people to get away with breaking the rules... and not for others. I now have several friends who are now employed by IT that I have conversations with all the time about what they are and aren't willing to enforce. How selective their rules and protocol seem to be. The arguments always end up in a change of subject because there is no real way to defend it.

I think it's a great place for bands to promote their music. I think I have an idea why some bands might be kicked off for their success.
Remember, they have their own record label.
Hypothetically speaking, imagine them offering a deal to a band to go into business together, the band refusing, and the site deciding to pull their page. It's not too far fetched. Considering their legal agreement, they could get away with it without repercussion.
Look at the kind of money they are making on people like Tila Tequila.
Just hope they don't decide to branch out into photography.
