Arent they fun? as puppies they are kinda fluffy then by the time they're two they hair turns into tightly wound cords, you never have to brush them or anything infact it kinda ruins them..they just have to be washed.

They come from Hungary. There is another dog that is kinda like them that is called a Puli they are black and a bit smaller, the Komondor is always white.
The Puli was used to herd sheep while the Komondor was used to guard and protect them.

*waits for Voldta to catch this thread and release cyberlox for dogs...*

I'm sure the little fellas are cute, but I'm just thinking how many days of soaking you're gonna need the first time it sees a muddy field.

yeah they do get quite messy if they are outside dogs, mines gonna be a mostly inside dogs, other than going for walks and drives...
so I guess they only need to be bathed twice a year if they are inside dogs
heres a picture showing how massive these dogs are

Hehe, that dog would be taller than me. Have you decided on a name yet? It's very cute.

The first dogs look like walking mops, I much prefer the second lot. They look a lot more "lupine" and are thus always preferable to me.

komondors are actually capable of taking down a bear and a wolf, they can also outrun them. They attack silently and without warning, however they are not violent, opposed to killing or maiming their target, they detain them until their charge returns at that point they will follow orders. They have been known to detain a burglar for up to eight hours until the owner gets home and calls the police. How fucking cool is that???

    (shakes head sadly)

my mum had a Papillon (Chihuahua/King Charles Spaniel cross), a tiny yappy-dog with incredibly long fur. little Velvet Rose was an inside dog. She needed shampooing and trimming every week. you can't wait for the filth to build up to the point where it's stinking you out of the house.. unless you want the dog to have a really short life.

oh goodness no, I mean as far as mud and stuff, i wont let him get nasty or anything, but because of their hair and skin its bad for them to be bathed alot
I will have him professionally groomed, its much easy and thorough that way.

arent they so cute, I totally have my mind set on one the sencond I saw them. They run between $250 and $2500, im not looking for a show quality dog, I'm getting a full breed but I want a good personality first and formost. Im expecting to spend $1000, but that usually include microchipping and hip check, and flea stuff and everything...the only thing is I also have to have it shipped most likely, which will be another $500...but I love them, i must!
