    Default New User in NY

Hey all. I'm a new user. I'm just starting this thread to introduce myself. I'm Amalthea, and I'm from LI, NY. I'm a 31 year old writer (and will hopefully have a collection of short stories out soon!) and run a gothic/alternative site as well. I'm just looking to get to know some more members of the community and look forward to meeting as many of you as I can. Is anyone on here from the Long Island area? Let me know! It's always good to find community people from close to home.

Cool beans. Good to see familiar faces. I've been MIA for a bit (got taken out by a deer tick of all things) but I've returned. Huzzah and all that.

Welcome. Salutations. And don't believe anything you hear about me unless it sounds impressive, then you can believe it.

Thanks I'm considering ravamping the whole thing, so if you do go, and you'd like to see some changes, let me know what you'd like to see. I'm indecisive so this sort of thing is a nightmare.

It's mostly short fiction, and I suppose it would be considered magic realism. Relatively dark in tone and largely about disasterous interactions in relationships. Kind of hard to describe, but people seem to like them.

You know, I do, actually. I haven't seen him in a while though. I should try and hunt him down.

It won't let me PM! So now everyone has to deal with my recipe.

    1. Take a box of spaghetti and cook it up
    2. Once it's cooked, mix it with a can of tomato sauce (just plain sauce in a can, nothing fancy) and about a stick of butter. Mix it really well, until all of the butter is melted.
    3. Shred an 8 oz block of cheddar cheese (mild or sharp, it's up to you.)
    4. Put half of the spaghetti into a glass baking dish, then sprinkle about half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat with the other half of the spaghetti and cheese.
    5. Cover the whole thing with tin foil and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.

If you want to make it in advance, you can do everything but the final bake and just let it sit in the refrigerator. It freezes really well once it's made and the leftovers are ridiculously good.
You usually eat it with tuna salad on the side, but it's a meal all on its own.
    Enjoy it!

I believe you need 25 posts to PM as well as post pictures. Helps keep the spammers and phishers away.

It's just one stick, I believe that's 8 tablespoons. It makes a LOT. It's whole box of spaghetti, bear in mind. I'd say it makes maybe 8-10 servings, completely filling a 10x7 baking pan to the top (luckily, the leftovers are amazing.)
