I cut it out from time to time. I find it much easier to taper off than to go cold turkey. A very small amount can greatly decrease headaches and depression, although the concentration, at least for me, comes later. Good luck.

I know that feeling oh too well. I went through withdrawals a little less than a year ago. Before I quit though I became a little twitchy and decided that it just wasn't healthy. I just went cold turkey. I must say I certainly was pissy at co-workers and family. I'm good now though. It took me about 6 months to get used to it. These days I sleep way too much and my girlfriend always tells me that I need to stop sleeping so much.

Take a valium and Fagetaboutit. It will help you through the withdrawals.

you'll get over it. using medication to get over an addiction never works, because you're just suplimenting one chemical for the other and it's not helping your body to overcome or get used to anything.

I think that I'm a pretty big addict and everything that I quit I got over cold turkey. It's been about a month since I stopped taking caffiene, and I'm getting back into a normal sleep pattern. of course as always a good diet and excersize are the best thing for any circumstance.

the only thing that I really miss is dr. pepper, and I haven't been able to find any caf free yet.

It works for me. It sure can help ease the pangs of withdrawal symptoms.

So when you have a headache you don't take an advil? It's the same thing. Sure you can get over a headache without an advil but why make it more uncomfortable than it has to be?

I could never. Caffeine will be the death of me.

Yeah I miss a day and get bad headaches and am pissy.

Kinda scary to be addicted to something.

I meant non-over the counter drugs, especially habit forming (AKA: addictive) ones like valium, percocet, etc.

yeah i never got why they did that, though its pretty common in drug rehab to load people going through withdrawal on benzos or barbiturates, because according to them its a lot easier to go through withdrawal when youre completely doped up and only semi-conscious throughout the whole ordeal, the fact that it can just lead to another addiction doesnt seem to be considered at all.

when i was going through benzodiaxepine withdrawal i just smoked a good bit of reefer, as it seems to be a much better and non-addictive option compared to taking prescription sedatives.

My standard coffee before a big night out at the servo:

Double shot espresso, dash of milk, 5 sugars. Knock back.

Serve a customer or two - repeat

and continue till 5 have gone done.

I had to stop after I began seeing Orange Spots on a regular basis and now I don't drink coffee anymore. The first time the spots came, I went home to bed and shut my eyes. They were still there, I was sweating and I was hella paranoid. It's an interseting feeling.

    Now, I drink tea

I have a small addiction to cigarettes, but can go a whole week (perhaps longer I get bored after a week) without a nic-fit.

I believe its because I'm not addicted to the nicotine, but the act of smoking. (probably a load of bullshit though)

Anyways, myself being ADHD, caffeine has always done the opposite to me, so I hardly ever drink it because I get tired. And I've had a high sugar intake for the past few years so sugar doesn't really do much for me either. (suprised I'm not diabetic...)

I have been going through Caffeine withdrawal for about 12 days now. The symptoms are getting better for me but it has been very hard to concentrate at times. Has anyone else experienced this?

i are addicted to caffination. Though i di recently have to take a few weeks off. Green tea, being lower in caffeine and gentler on the system is the way i weaned off. eased the throbbing head and the bitchyness.
