A team of researchers from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has created the world’s first material that reflects virtually no light. Covering the walls of a room with this new material, and turning on the lights, you'd not be able to see the walls at all - just blackness... deep, dark, impenetrable, Robert-Smith-style blackness.
Goths the world over who have been insulting each other with "your black is SO just charcoal" have suddenly been knocked off their pointy-toed boots. Now, you're only "black enough" if nobody can see you.
The group are working on a similar material that reflects virtually no publicity, after funding from the Britney Spears Foundation.
