VNV and And 1 were great last night. And 1 played about a 45-50 minute show and were pretty fun to see live. Steve was like a little energy ball dancing 80's style across the stage. Quite humorous. They did a cover of Projekt Pitchfork's "Timekiller" and during another song I can't recall the name of, in the middle busted out Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" for a chorus, then right back into the song. Most of his dancing reminded me of
VNV Nation put on an excellent show as well, playing songs from old and new. Their third song (If i recall) was the new "Descent" (which isn't my favorite track on the new cd) but was damn good live, complete with the drummer and both keyboardists drumming on either side like a synched machine factory.
During one of their slower songs Ronan sneezed..said "I'm sorry, ive never sneezed onstage before in my life!", then tried to continue the song..but couldnt stop laughing..so it ended up being a instrumental for most of the song until he could keep it together (The fans laughing didn't help i bet!) Lol.
During a short 5 minute break, he joked about not liking Southern grits, which i dont blame him.
After the show I presented the band with the VNV goggles (like the Combichrist ones) and we're in talks about that now, but they signed the prototype pair. I sense a contest soon...![]()
Overall: The club was great (Masquerade) and the bands were superb. Well done Europe!![]()
