kickass.... punkin pie
Stephen Ouimette and Allison Court respectively did some brilliant vocal work as the voices of Beetlejuice and Lids, and the cartoon, while sanitised a bit for tv, generally kept to the spirit of the original film, which is a tough act to pull off for any tv project based on a film, whether live-action or animated.
Thanks for the links, guys, and am going to enjoy viewing these, especially as I've not seen them, since they originally aired on ABC many a moon ago!!!
I shot the shit with the guys from Nelvana. Scriptwriting jam sessions were a blast.
Really???? How so??? Curious minds want to know!!!!
I went to an industry convention and talked to the guys who did BJ. They said scriptwriting was awesome. They picked the absolute bare bones of a scenario and then thought of all the hideous puns that could be done with it.
Nothing like a good pun-fest(if there is such a thing), and glad they had such a good time coming up with the zingers they did.
They'd write the script AROUND the puns.
It was a competition to see who could come out with the most awful ones, then they went to down drawing em out.
i loved that show! the big texan guy was annoying though. hey how many had the action figures growing up? (me-the red suited one from the movie)
I would recommend everyone who loves Winona to consider watching Sex and Death 101 . I don't know how many theaters it will play in, but it is getting great reviews at some well-respected film festivals. It will be available on DVD in February.
This is the first time Daniel Waters (Screenwriter - Heathers) and Winona have worked together since 1989. It is good stuff! Waters also directs SD101.
