Default have you ever pulled "the card"?

im sure some of you know what i'm talking about....for those who don't-
"the card" is a reference to using one's ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual orientation eiteras an advantagous moment or to squash a fight/argumet/confrnation in the tracks byinsiting someone is descriminatley profile you.

im notashamed to say i have but the "gay guy" card doesnt work so well against stoppin someone from making the big mistake of geting scuffly with me. lol in fact, it sometimes encourages it.

    No, I can’t say that I have.

Of course, I don’t know that I have any cards at my disposal. I’m Irish. Middle class? (like I can really peg myself with a class, I’m too transient to really have any identity in that area.) Everything I could claim to be a minority of any other person would snicker at. So, instead, I just do my best to be the nice one who is friends with all the worthy people…

I am interested, however, in the way that people use perceived injustice (and real injustice for that matter) to manipulate others.

But, as for me, the best card I have to pull is one where I point out that I cooked the person’s previous meal.

I'm sometimes aware that there are things which happen to me because I am female or whatever, but I think asking for special treatment is lame. Special treatment is prejudice whether it is favorable or negative. Then again, I take that sufficiently to heart that I'm opposed to affirmative action.

    I believe in meritocracy.

    what?

you're telling me you've never played the 'stupid whiteboy' card?

it's hilarious, basically when ever you're in 'the wrong neighbordhood', or somebody's trying to pull the 'ghetto ass crazy motherfucker' card on you, you just act like you stepped off the set to 'leave it to beaver', and pretend to be completely oblivious to whatever's going on... of course it only works if you're not actually completely oblivous... it's a form of hyper agressive 'niceness' that's totally fake, and says "FUCK YOU" but in a way that can't be easily confronted without theother person looking like a complete fucko. of course an integral part of the act, is to deadpan, and say increasingly insane shit, with a shiteating grin on your face... act like a gameshow host...(actually it works for anyone, not just whiteboys...)

most folks who are stupid enough to 'play a card' with you, won't be smart enough to know that white people don't actually act like that... man, i've gotten away with so much shit with that one...

...especially once it dawns on them what my 'real card' is.

i'm batshit crazy, and will kill your entire family, pets, everyone you know, and your caseworkers if you make it seem like fun.

But no, I've never pulled the 'card'. I'm too mixed up and confused to claim one thing or another anyway.
