plans change; heading west

It's times like these that I think I should follow whatever fool whim comes into my head...

As of three weeks ago, my plan was to get married, move to Japan.

In the last two weeks, plans changed. Hub to be and I were going to get married in November, but I'd go to live in California and just bounce back and forth to japan to visit.

Now, thanks to a sticky family situation, he and I have to change our plans. Again. If for no other reason than my sweet sanity. So, our wedding's been delayed a year because of asshattery. And I'll be going to California.

So, if any one can suggests good coffee shops, grocery stores, bars, clothing stores, etc, please help a girl out.
