korn
Carcass were good the other week. Suzy Quatro was good the other decade (and not the last decade either... about '89).
Lacuna Coil with Stone Sour and Shadows Fall....
I really only went for LC...but really like Stone Sour...Shadows Fall is not for me!
Metal Masters in Jersey a few months back...
bunch of old metal heads with their kids getting out of mini vans... the kids were wearing Dio t-shirts...
it was Testament, Motorhead, Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath with Dio vocals) and last but not least Judas Priest (with the ever crazy and now openly gay Rob Halford vocals!)
made me feel 17 again! and Heaven and Hell freaking stole the show!!!!
oh... and Yanni "live at the acropolis" (in Greece in the 90s).... kind of a dirty secret and source of embarrassment for my wife... but damn look at that hair and mustache...

oh and i happened to be in Berlin when the wall came down... literally i was there the night it all happened...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin_Wall
so i went back to see the Pink Floyd (well Roger Waters) "Berlin Wall" concert... 21 July 1990... guest performances by: Ute Lemper, The Band, The Hooters, Van Morrison, Sinéad O'Connor, Cyndi Lauper, Marianne Faithfull, Scorpions, Joni Mitchell, Jerry Hall, Paul Carrack, Tim Curry, Thomas Dolby, Sir Albert Finney and Bryan Adams...another freaking awesome show...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wall_Concert_in_Berlin
before that i saw Pink Floyd in Venice on the floating stage... watched the show from a 12 man zodiac boat with a few cases of beer... problems with authorities ensued after we were drunk... Venice claims that the noise did irreparable damage to the city... i learned how to pick handcuffs that night so i could release 5 friends that had been handcuffed to a railing while the Carabinieri (one part of the italian law enforcement folks) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carabinieri could go detain more folks....

Depeche Mode in Tartu Estonia....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUbuaAWF0Fk
there are a few more...
That Pink Floyd show in Venice sounds totally amazing. I wish I could have seen that.
I've been to a few shows recently, The Black Angels played with the Warlocks a while back that was a kick ass show. I recommend that show.

Actually, I guess I have seen incarnations of both live, but neither really rocked my socks off as a live show. Although when I saw Sisters, one of my friends spotted this smoking hot guy for just a sec and we were all trying to find him again and she finally figured out that it was Andrew Eldritch without his sunglasses. Kinda funny when a celeb can go incognito at his own show by taking his shades off.
I listened to a lot of Pink Floyd in high school and I love Sisters. I even enjoy Vision Thing.

Slightly off topic but a little funny. I saw a license plate frame on a car the other day that said---I'd rather be at a Hall and Oates concert. Ha!
tool, manson, aerosmith muhaha, floater, cheap trick, stabbing westward, placebo, orgy, rammstein..and so on and so forth
i saw Papa Roach , Seether, and Staind a few weeks ago
Rise Against is coming out here in 2009, so I might go to that.
Weird Al Yankovic... simply one of the best shows I've ever seen... EVER. Fuckin' brilliant. He's like the youngest musician in his own band, all the other dudes we're brilliant. His parody of NIN was beyond.... that's just it. beyond.
I've seen a bunch of crap I can't quite recall...
...VNV Nation was a pretty fucking excellent time.
I've seen Crash Worship more times than I can remember (for the usual obvious reasons.)
I've seen George Clinton/Funkadellic a bunch of times (4+?) always a good time.
um... I actually like the symphony quite bit. Must remember to see some this year. Opera can be nice too.
Public Enemy was a strange kind of show... frat boys, and homies... weirdness.
Ween was just plain fun, what I can remember... (cloudycloudycloudycloud....)
Yeah, I don't get out much.
a few years back I went to see judas priest, the music was good but it was fucking sad................they all have like three chins and they're still wearing the same style leather outfits except they're seriously tailored to fit chubby old guys.........screaming for vengeance tour was waayyy better
Emilie Autumn puts on a damn good show, if a tad childish. I don't much care for the music although the concert has allowed me to appreciate a song or two now, but I appreciate it for being verbally and visually interesting on top of the usual musical effort. Frankly, I think purely musical concerts are grossly overrated.
Hum. The Crüxshadows are another band that had something to add when viewed live, over what you get when your DJ or MP3 player plays it. Beyond that it delves into abstract detail about which bands had a 'nice energy' live, but screw that - that's not worth the ticket fee. Mind you though, I haven't attended much beyond the contemporary spectrum of goth club industrial.
Bands I have seen in concert include:
Squirrel Nut Zippers
Ani Difranco
Slipknot
Rammstein
Voltaire
Ego Likeness
MSI
Cruxshadows
Abney Park
NIN
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Scissor Sisters
The Who
System of a Down
Das Ich
GWAR
The Dresden Dolls
Mischief Brew
Flogging Molly
The Pogues (Inox, you were at this one too ^_^)
Santa Dads
Smoosh
Tori Amos
Type O Negative
Cradle of Filth
Out of all of those, I think Scissor Sisters and Squirrel Nut Zippers were the ones that I'm the most glad to have gotten to see. Ego Likeness and Ani Difranco had the most purely beautiful music. The Pogues were the drunkest. Flogging Molly, MSI and GWAR worked me up the most. Abney Park and Santa Dads were the silliest.
We were also both at GWAR and The Dresden Dolls. ;DOriginally Posted by batzilla
I pointed out The Pogues because I thought you had left it off your list, but now I note that I was mistaken!Originally Posted by inox
