Are you good at playing cards? For money or just for fun? What's your game, poker, 21, etc.?

I love poker, but apparently I suck at it....Or I'm just always doomed with suck ass playing cards. Stud, straight, Texas Hold 'em, Chicago, whatever....If it's "poker", I'll play it. I never played it in a casino though. Just with friends and usually with .25 cent antes. The biggest hand I ever won was for about $230.00, but I never see the pot get that big. It was a fluke and I was the lucky bastard who got the better hand.

i prefer betting on horses... but whenever i go to the street corners in Baltimore to place a bet on my favorite horse i never recognize the names... WMD, Paraylizer, MAC-9... so i bet anyway, just guessing and picking a name i like...

now if i can just figure out how to check and see if i won anything... the little vials they give me only seem to have different colored tops... and no writing... must be a new kind of horse betting system...

heading to a fancy restaurant in B-More tonight for my East Coast B-Day party... maybe on the way into town i will play the horse game again...

    Happy Birthday, dude!

Don't throw those vials away. Give them to Raza. He find a use for those "bets".

Rummies fun. With betting or without. Learned it when I worked at a Chinese restuarant. Asians kill at playing cards.

Black Jack for me. I clean up at casinos (about 9 times out of 10). I can walk in with 20 bucks and play for hours, once I went in with 100 and walked out with 800;] That was a fun night.

I have a strange habit of losing at casino. anyone else?

I like black jack, but there's too much random chance that is against you. on your first hand, right off the draw dealer pulls 21, you lose. nothing you can do about it. Dealer get's 20, chances are that you won't get 21, you can get 20, but you lose again. Now repeat this for a streak until all your money is gone.

I like poker and one time I took runner up in a tournament. I could have possibly won, but I went all in on a bluff because I wanted to end the game and go home. With that play my opponent knew that I either had gold or bust, so he had no choice but to match it and we both basically knew that we were just playing the hand up to chance highest card. I think that he beat me with like a slightly higher pair, nothin really special.

I actually really like playing cards, and I play for fun all the point, but hardly ever for money. Usually because I don't have any. Maybe someday that will change.

Are you using doubling method? That's a method with which you win 100% and it's legal. No body can throw you out of casino either. But it requires unlimited amount in cash.

    You guys know about it?

For example I'll start with 1$. You can of corse have 100$ for start amount if you want to.

    You bet 1$.
If you win you bet 1$ again.

If you dont. You double the bet each time untill you win so you come to 0 or plus again. For example 1 then 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 etc.... That's why you need to have unlimited amount of cash for this to work. And it takes damn long time unless your starting with 1000$. Theoreticaly what chances are for you to lose 10 times in a row?

    There you go

It just seems like the whole point is to wind up back to zero. That's fine if you're just killing time, but if you're trying to win, then what?

Then you bet x4... So every time you win you get extra. For example 1,4, 16, 64, 256, 1024 etc....

In first version you gain money if you win in first hand and you have more chance on wining if you have limit on cash. But it takes more time.

Nope, I dont use that method. I calculate based on the amount of people on the table and my seating position. Then I use common sense as far as wether to hit or stay. Say you see a lot of smaller cards on the table and you have a 13. Depending on the dealers face card, say its a 5 and they have to hit on a soft 17, I will stay at 13. Chances are theres a 10 that will pop up. I pay attention to the cards on the table. Now say the dealer is showing an 8, I always assume the card I cant see is a 10. I would hit on the 13 because if they do have a 10, I will lose unless I hit, even though I know my chances are slim I will have anything that could beat 18. So either way, I will lose if I dont hit or hit. I just gotta hope I dont have a high card. Thats kinda the only way I can explain it without going into great detail.

Plus, depending on the dealers face card, and say I have a 9-11 I will double down if I see a greater ratio of smaller cards on the table. This of course happening only if the dealer has a card showing of 8 or less.

I love Black Jack. I usually only do 5 dollar bets, if Im on a winning streak Ill bet more. Sometimes Ill sit out a hand or two depending on how the cards are falling.

that is sorta the method that I use. Only I do one, 2, 4, 8... and then start over again at one and repeat the cycle. that way theoretically you are only ever losing the amount that you won in the last hand aka. the casino's money, and you always keep your original amount.

Of course you can still get knocked out if you have a big losing streak. thus why blackjack sucks.
