I was trying out ideas to get a 'ghost effect' in camera rather than resorting to using Photoshop for a possible erotica shoot I've been contemplating. I was curious to hear what you all thought of the test results.

hmmm..........interesting. to be honest I'm not sure what I think of it yet
If it's not transparency in photoshop, then I say you succeeded sir!
They look nice.
Thanks. I'll probably post some from the 2nd test we did last night after the weekend (during the weekend if I find a moment of free time where I'm near my computer). I think I'm getting close to where I want to be with this.Originally Posted by VoldtaEngler
I'd say go with the models in B&W color and everything else in color. Knid of makes it more realistic that way. Nice shots though....Kinda spooky.
B&W is a good tip. I would prefer maybe a little bit more exposure, less transparency. Second picture is cool.
Are those two faces there intentionally? One is clearly recognizable face and other is right next to it on the upper right side. Was it intentional?
Thanks for the comments!
Ajax, the model in B&W with everything else in color will be a bit difficult as I am trying to create the effect entirely in camera rather than using Photoshop. It would look interesting, though. I could do the effect in PS afterwards, but I would end up making everything seen through the 'ghost' B&W, too.
Olix, the second face wasn't intentional. She was walking slowly through the frame and we had no idea what the result would look like. It just ended up looking rather cool.
Also, as promised, some examples of the second attempt at creating the ghost effect entirely in camera.
Well... do you know what's my biggest fetish that will, unfortunately, never happen?
I like your second attempt better but the one thing I might suggest is try to get the model to show up evenly, the way it's lighted he top half shows up more than her bottom half.
pretty cool... i agree with the lighting comment.
why in-camera, though? just a personal challenge?
perhaps get the girls tits out????
hah no jk... but on that thought maybe a nude shot from behind.. maybe looking or just rounding a tree.... never underestimate the piccy of a perfect ass.
not a fan of 1 or 3 but i love the middle picture the others are cool but 2 takes the cake
Partly a personal challenge as I feel I sit in Photoshop way too long when I edit photos anyway.Originally Posted by soma_stardust
And, as for the lighting, when a image is 'double exposed' like that, the lighter, whiter colors are more visible than the darker, blacker colors, hence the reason why her dress is more 'transparent' than her body. Also, in some of the images, such as the 2nd one in the 2nd test, we wanted only the upper portion of her body visible because we wanted it to appear that she was either coming out of the wall or just starting to manifest herself.
And Vix, we wholly intend to 'get her tits out' at some point.
Oh, and Soma, I still can't find a scythe.
Your talent is transparent here!
