praying-mantis...for endless reasons...such a wickedly passionate creature!!
Wanna see a 6'2", 325 lb man with an axe squeal like a frightened three year old girl? All you have to do is show me a spider and I FREAK!!! (LOL, had to have three people hold me down during the Shelob scene in Lord of The Rings III). As for a favorite bug.......hmmmm....would also have to concur on the praying mantis (see a pattern developing).
Ladybugs
I like butterflies, moths, exotic beetles ect ect
Beetles...in parts of Asia they paint em in gold, encrust them in jewels, and wear em as necklaces...while they are still alive.
I've always been fond of tarantulas! <3
This is my spider Anton... He's been kickin' for like 7 years.
My Girlfriend keeps wanting a tarantula...though oddly enough small house spiders make her scream like a lil girl. She keeps trying to sucker me into the whole pet scorpion thing...but I draw the line at things that can STING and PINCER me.
from what I remember, Tarantulars can live for at least around 10 to 15 years if in good health.Originally Posted by Szandora

Probably Since Tarantulas are not poisonous.Originally Posted by Tequila Zaire
tarantulas are poisonous.. Some are more docile than others.... some even eat birds.
I used to have a scorpion... That thing was mean as hell. I hated it. It died and disintegrated. It was a weird thing.
spiders! i found a whole bunch of little baby spiders the other day so we went out to celebrate (to spider health everywhere) the bird eating tarantulas are sweet as hell - you can even take them out for walks (awww - imagine a randy dog having a go at that ) A freind of mine used to keep scorpions and they were kinda lovely too. but i never had to clean the tank, so i'm probably biased.
That said i'm completely and unreasonably scared of wasps - i freak out. if i was allergic to them i could understand, but i'm not...
Ok I SO want one of those now.Originally Posted by Szandora

I'm a bit creeped out by scorpions, considering I find them in my house quite often >=o/ I think I shall join gonesavage and ceruleanfire and say lady bugs...They are probably the only bugs I can actually picture myself holding...
If so, my mistake, I must have been thinking of some other type of spider. I used to know all about bugs and insects, but then I lost interest in them, and forgot more than encyclopedias worth of knowledge about them.Originally Posted by Szandora
Gonna take a guess and say you live somewhere in the southwest then. A friend of mine use to live in Arizona and had huge problems with them..he had to go on nightly "hunts" to clean the edges of the house and pathways from em. Later he got smart and sold em to people and places that wanted em.Originally Posted by DescendingAngel
lol - in the uk you rarely find anything more exotic than a silverfish
Thanks for the nightmares.....spiders <shudder>Originally Posted by Szandora
Crunchy ones.
I like centipedes.... I think they look cool when they are walking
I've went through a bunch of milliepedes. I love them! They are soooo sweet and docile.Originally Posted by -=Asmodeus=-
I had a bad childhood experience with centipedes.. eh.
One of my first memories as a child involves a centipede. I used to like to sleep on the floor on a bunch of blankets and my momma bein' southern and all told me I had to have it up and folded when I woke up. So... I pull the blanket up and there is a HUGE centipede crawling on the floor at an alarming speed towards me.. I screamed soooooo like a little girl. It was very traumatic. Somehow I've seemed to get over my fear of bugs.
My little boyfriend in second grade brought me a centipede to school in a jar as a present. I thought I was gonna faint.. but I accepted it and let it go when I got home (well my dad did, I wasn't about to touch that thang!)... Boys do the silliest things.
Ok so no centipede's as stocking stuffers then?Originally Posted by Szandora
Well know I know what to use on the border of that drawing I told ya about. (It's coming along quite well...abosultely the opposite of that awful sketch I showed ya.)
Aw, that's so romantic....Originally Posted by Szandora

I can't wait to see it! I'll get that dvd off to you... sorry, I've been so busy working and packing by I have that sitting out ready to burn.
It's gotten kinda big...I went with the whole "Satanic Carnivale'" theme...It's quite fun coming up with characters to populate the crowd.Originally Posted by Szandora
Don't worry about the DVD...do what you gotta do and burn it when you can. I'm sure everyone can agree with this sentiment "Pack faster! We want you in L.A.!"

Satanic Carnivale... now you know how to get straight to a womans heart. That sounds so superduper cool!
I'm partial to Black Widows, but I feel an interest in tarantulas growing.
rollie pollies
Today I impaled three wasps, because one of these guys recently almost killed my mother. Allergic shock. sucks :\
Although they are fascinating, I hate Bees,Wasps, and Hornets.
Btw, in Japan, they have types that are as big as Dogs.
I'm not overly fond of any bugs. I'm scared of spiders and any other eight legged thingy, but what really terrifies me are locusts. *shudder*
I like lady bugs and butterflies and Rolypolys (pill bugs). But I'm not too keen on any bug. I absolutly HATE Love bugs. Stuck together at the ass and EVERYWHERE! Drive thought central Fla and the front end of your car will be fuury with the damned things and their lil' buggy guts eat through the paint. I am *SO* glad I moved!
K
I like walking sticks and water beatles, the big suckers they look acient and archaiac and they are rare to see you have to bee near a river or body of fresh water....when a girl says parying mantis.....I take it as okay do not date...i have very few brain sells as is....
You mean the people?Originally Posted by BrightStar

lady bugs here in Fla. are aweful..but u know there not natural right?...USF (UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA) made them...they were supposed to eat mosquito's but somehow the got out and since they have no natural predator except cars they thrive and for some reason the love cars that just got washed....bastards!...my fav. is a praying mantis...I used to catch them and stare at trhem all day
Preferably dead ones - they are my fav.
I like snails
