I'm huge fan of horror (YAY! for the Jax interview!) but I'm always on the lookout for something new.
I get in this bad habit of watching the same 10 movies over and over ..... so HELP ME and suggest something diffrent *lol*

Oh and those 10 are:
1.Psycho (1960)
2. A Clockwork Orange
3. Wolfman
4. Fargo
5. Dirty Dancing (shut up, it's amazing!)
6. Necromantic
7. Necromantic 2
8. Gremlins
9. Ravenous
10. Taxi Driver
Let's see....
If you're looking for old school horror you can get a laugh out of, I can list off a bunch of old B movies like Killer Clowns from Outer Space and The Giant Gila Monster. Plus, there's always Bela Lugosi movies, afterall he was the original Dracula, Wolfman, Ape Man, other classic roles. Yeah, they're not scary by today's standards, but they're priceless. As far as a new(er) horror movie, if it's out on DVD, I'd recommend Quarantine. I got a kick out of that one.
Otherwise, I tend to replay the same groups of movies. Kevin Smith films (Jay and Silent Bob, Jersey Girl, and Zack and Mary Make a Porno), Coen Brothers films (Big Labowski, No Country for Old Men), 70's horror movies (Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the first few installments of Halloween and Friday the 13th, etc), B-movies of any kind, and the stuff done by Seth Rogan and that fat dude from Superbad.
I don't know, I'm probably not that much help really because I watch just about everything and have over 500 movies to choose from all conveniently located on an external hard drive.
Oh, and if you want a list of some great horror movies, I've still got November's issue of Revolver which has a listing of what they called the 50 most metal horror movies of all time. It lists a lot of good movies I haven't seen in awhile and can't remember the names of.
Nobody puts Baby in corner! Hahaha! Cheesiest line eva!Originally Posted by Nos

Well, internet is still not working in the room, so I'll try and remember to grab the magazine tomorrow before I head to the hangar. That, or if I manage to actually get my day off on Tuesday, I'll grab it and make out the list.
Aw Thank you!Originally Posted by nathanmbailey

Red Dawn
Roadhouse
Mad max beyond thunder dome
Guy Ritchie Films: Revolver, Snatch, Lock stock and 2 smoking barrels
Gregg Araki Films: Doom Generation, Totally F***ed up, NoWhere
Burn after reading (If you like the Gregg Araki Films, you will love this)

Here we go, as promised. This is what Revolver magazine put down as some of the most metal horror movies of all time. The list includes:
Black Sabbath, Hellraiser (and the sequel) The Thing, The Shining, Carie, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Pet Sematary, Hostel, The Exorcist, Saw, Halloween, Frankenstein, 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, Devil's Rejects, The Fly, Evil Dead 2, Psycho, Horror of Dracula, Nosferatu eine Symphonie des Grauens, Alien/Aliens, Re-Animator, Night of the Living Dead (and Return of), Blair Witch Project, Silence of the Lambs, Dead Alive, Nekromantik, I Spit on Your Grave, CannibalHolocaust, The Omen, August Underground's Mordum, Altered States, Last House on the Left, Freaks, Phantasm
Pretty nice list. Mirai Kawashima of Sigh gives the "five most terrifying Japanese horror films" as: Jigoku, Nyofu ikei Ningn, Guinea Pig Series, Audition, and Dark Water.
Andrea Ferro of Lacuna Coil gives the "five most bloodcurdling Italian horror movies" as Profondo Rosso, Suspiria, La Casa Dall Finestre Che Ridono, Paura Nella Citta' Dei Morti Viventi, and Buio Omega.
That's it. I'm sure you can find something interesting in there.
ok for some reason, i really like weird japanese shit.
what i've seen recently:
Machine Girl (really bloody)
Shaolin Girl (not horror, but really good)
Azumi (same)
Cruel Restaurant (very ... odd.)
ju-on 2 (traumatised me so much i can't remember much of it...)
2LDK (fucking bloody and bizarre)
not japanese:
zombie strippers (hella gorey and cheesy goodness)
the prophecy 3 i just saw last night, love the prophecy movies
erm... i know i've seen something else recently but i can't remember what it was... (besides the Devil's Rejects which i'm sure everyone's already seen and goes on my top-movies-of-all-time list.)
Thank you for looking that up! Most of those are in my collection but there are some I've never herd of ! Great fucking listOriginally Posted by nathanmbailey

YAY for scary ass Asian horror !
Oh yeah! That's a good one for sure!Originally Posted by Nos
Oh and I just saw "Beyond Hypothermia"...Another Asian flick, but it's more action/romance with a kick ass female assassin in it.
I LOVE ZOMBIE STRIPPERS! The cheesiness was just... I don't know, I don't have the vocabulary to define it. Plus having a cast composed mostly of porn stars is always great. On that line, there's also Darkworld and Experiment in Torture. Cheesy and stupid, but makes for a great laugh.
And no problem. The web happened to have no gaps from my room outward yesterday and my stack of magazines sits next to my computer.
Don't forget about these, not so much newer movies though. They Live, Battle Royale, Sleepaway Camp, Pumpkinhead, Dog Soldiers, Shaun of the Dead, Ginger Snaps, The Hills Have Eyes (original), Feast, and thats all I can think of right now....I know theres more though!

You gotta check out Virgin Witch! totally wicked!
I'd recommend Mother of Tears too. Dario Argentos latest also staring Asia Argento.
Ginger Snaps was great. A feel good movie.

If you watch it let me know what you think. I just watched 'Brothood of Satan' and that was pretty good to.Originally Posted by Nos
While watching it I realized that the Thrill Kill Kult sampled some shit from that movie.
Has anyone seen Blindness yet? It's based on a novel from a Nobel awarded writer.
A "real" horror.
I highly recommend it! Thought those too depressed should maybe skip this for now.
Just saw the Friday the 13th horror film. ROCKIN!
not horror, but I saw the International, and it was really good.
I see the add banner for Midnight Meat Train. that was good, very Lovecraftian (Barker usually is.) It's by the director of Versus (check that out if you haven't seen it. it's like Evil Dead as a kung fu movie.)

Uh Audiction was one of the coolest movie I've ever seen! I'm not so into Japanese stuff but since most of my friends are I've seen a lot of thrashy things lately...If you liked Audiction you should checked the entire filmography of Takashi Miike, my favourite one is "Ichi the killer" but if you enjoy cheesy stuff you don't have to miss "Full metal jakuza", which features among other things a crazy scientist dressed in latex who build the perfect killer with some metal and the body parts (the heart, the "nether regions" and the tatooed back)of two dead jakuzas .Originally Posted by Nos
