Default Thin to the bone and beyond

Now this is sad but what can you do?

I'm seeing it pop up more and more these days and it's a bit frustrating that communities like this exist. That particular one is pretty small but their are dozens all over the place. One has to wonder how much of a danger such a community can be give that it promotes something so damaging...unlike say a pro-pot community this leads to some pretty serious sicknesses and in some cases death. Reminds me of those pro suicide groups...

This is just a much slower and more brutal form of it really.

How sad. I can't believe some people are like that. What I find humorous is that almost none of the members have photos, avatars, or even personal livejournal entries of their own. They all post on this one community and nowhere else. It makes you wonder if it's just a joke. Oh my god!! These girls are like idol worshiping Mary Kate Olsen. I thought she had a drug problem not an anorexia problem. Hmm, who knows.

Sad and pathetic at the same time. Seems to me they could save themselves some time, and have someone teach them how to use a handgun. Works faster and still leaves a messy corpse.

It is time for natural selection to take it's long-overdue course. These disassociated sicklings are out of touch with themselves and the world. They hate even their own flesh.
Unfortunately, they'll never be allowed to die by their friends and family, as is their wish. Instead, they will be hooked to tubes and force-fed oatmeal and baby-food, because God forbid a white Westerner should be allowed to experience the horrors of starvation, even if self-induced.

All this does is advocate my most hated form of sickness. I have always had what some might call an odd philosophy. Be happy how you are and say fuck what everyone else thinks.

on a positive note, they'll all have jobs as extras, the next time someone makes a film about German Socialist[1] concentration camps.

Sad and sickening, and yet, don't we as a society support this image? The size 00 supermodel and the meth thin porn and movies stars? When a size 5 is no longer a reality, but somthing to be feared and discouraged? I saw an ad the other night , one of those late night info-type-mercials, that said "tired of doing sit ups? Don't want to have bulky ab muscles? Try our product!" bulky ab muscles? Dear gods! What are we oing to ourselves? Look at what we're doing to susceptible women like these! Maybe it would be better if no one could see what any one else loked like, that way there wouldn't be a "supposed to" to look like...

I should never rant when I'm in a bad mood...

Sorry about that I couldn't resist. But seriously, all this size 0 model bullshit... its all just false beauty.

I tried to post... I think that they know they're stupid twits... and don't want to get bitched at by people who think anorexia is sad, and sickening. So they make it so friends only can comment.

Actually it's far far FAR worse in Argentina where plastic surgery is a national pastime. You want to see unhealthy body image? Go there.

It's bad enough they have netire clinics dedicated to this problem. It's amazing to see the footage of all the work they go through just keep the girls eating.

Europe is no better and neither is Japan...ever culture has a pretty fucked up version of what beauty is...same with our neighbors to the north.

Not really...it's one of the few things the human race as a whole is responsible for. We'd like to think it's an american original but this kinda stuff went on way before the US was even a country...

now that i think of it youre right like the corsets women wore in the 1800s in europe that gave them 10 inch waists that kind of shit has been going on forever but i still think the modern trend started in the US

Guess it depends when you start the modern trend...if we go to the 50's for example you had the curvy blond bombshell look. Not to be confused with the Pamela Anderson version we have now, I'm talking the true bombshell look with women who have some actual flesh on their bones. That was almost a U.S. thing until Italy and good ole France gave us other women to lust after...so that was pretty worldly really.

The 60's...well you can probably say that the image of beauty was dominated but British fashion really. It was still a diverse decade with all sorts of new and diffrent outlooks on what made a woman beautiful...but you think 60's you think more about the British influence than much else.

70's...that could be said was dominated by a U.S. version of what beauty was...but even then the women actually looked like women not stick figures.

80's...I think this is where the real problems began. All over the place you kinda started to see far more "fake" beauties thanks to plastic surgery coming into it's own and the general weird nature the 80's was to begin with from the over the top greed fueled trends to the blinding array of various trends each sorta pushing for more and more flesh really...odd given the decade that gave us hair bands and blonds with bigger tits than the sun was considered the glory days of religious reich. Plus this was the age where Older women seduced teen boys in movies...not sure how that relates but it sure was creepy.

then we have the 90's...well one can blame it for just about everything wrong with the modern world so why stop now? DAMN YOU SUPER MODELS!

Anorexia PAYS! I don't think most people recognize anorexic when they see it and they dish out the dough to see some more. They don't realize that these girls are counting the calories in their grapes until they are in the hospital. Afterall, aren't some of the models on this site anorexic? C'mon, people love to say they hate it but they love to see those nice rib bones jutting out so long as there's some silicone where it counts! Didn't someone start a thread about those "sexy" Olsen twins? Let's not pretend people, the skinny is in.
