can someone recomend me some great movies?
gothy movies would be nice, but just anything would be great. doesn't have to be real new, but post 1995 would be nice.

How about Fight Club, American History X...umm...Donnie Darko is good...lets see...I watched Jarhead the other day, its like Full Metal Jacket for the next generation, it wasn't awsome but I'd watch it again.
...maybe those will help, or at least get you on the path to finding some others.
the good the bad and the ugly
lock, stock, and two smoking barrels... and boondock saints.
Calvaire, Haute Tension, Feux Rouges.
just saw Alien Vs Predator. if you go into the experience without high expectations, it's not that bad. the very last scene made me laugh.
..oh, GREAT movies?
Catch-22 ("THEY'RE SHOOTING AT ME!" "They're shooting at EVERYONE, Yossarian.")
Kelly's Heroes ("Always wit da negative waves, Moriarity.")
Dr Strangelove ("Shoot, a feller could have a pretty good time in Vegas with all that stuff.")
oh, and if you happen to fall on the ninjas' side, check out any Sho Kosugi movie.
There's a movie out here called Renaissance, it's a sci-fi black and white animated movie, my friends said it's ok. But I don't know when it'll come to the states.
The City of Lost Children is one of my favorites actually. Although it is kinda funny listening to Ron Perlman speaking french.
somebody said the Boondock Saints already. So um yeah.
that too! see it right away!Originally Posted by hewhoisagod

priceless... excellent movie,
one of Robin Williams best

mirror the John Irving novel
because it doesn't, I actually
think it's better.
John Irving appears in a
brief cameo, as the referee.
i don't believe that anyone, the director included, really knows what donnie darko is about.Originally Posted by Spaceman Spiff
Apart from that i'd recommend anything by david chronenburg.
'Fishing with John' it's a series but check it out. It's funny as hell. It's hosted by John Lurie and stars Jim Jarmusch, Willem Dafoe, Matt Dillon, Tom Waits & Dennis Hopper.
You gotta rent 'Down by Law' it's directed by Jim Jarmusch. Wicked Good!
So now movies have to make sense to be "good".Originally Posted by interzone

I really enjoyed the old Crash with James Spader. I agree...anything Cronenberg is usually good.
i love that movie. what i get from it is that it's about the physics of time travel, and at the end (not to spoil the ending for those who haven't seen it) he time travels back. still doesn't explain frank the rabbit, tho. *shrugs*Originally Posted by Spaceman Spiff
oh yeah, other good movies.... the black cat; evil dead 1, 2, and 3; suspiria.... sorry about all i watch is horror movies.. hehe
man, i love the evil dead series
Yeah, thats pretty much what I got from it too. Best I could figure the rabbit is some kind of temporal guide or something. Its a little funny that everyone seems to speculate, no one that I've talked to is able to declair that they know exactly what it all means. It probably makes for a more memorable movie that way.Originally Posted by the_darkness_calls
Two words for Donnie Darko...
DIRECTOR'S CUT
Resulting in a movie that tells a
much more coherent story....
but then again, if you don't get it..
you just don't get it... still entertaining,
especially loaded.
Even better, go read the book
The Philosophy of Time Travel
online... since it's not a 'real'
book from the movie... or
watch the flick a couple more
times. But the book explains it
all... just like Clarissa.
Frank is explained by the passage:
"The Manipulated Dead are more powerful than the Living Receiver.
If a person dies within the Tangent Dimension, they are able to contact
the Living Receiver through the Fourth Dimensional Construct.
The Fourth Dimensional Construct is made of Water."
Frank is the manipulated dead.
He died within the Tangent Dimension
and now has contacted Donnie to right the wrongs.
DONNIE DARKO <3<3
Bram Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman & Winona Ryder is beautiful too.
& Closer! ^^
