There has to be at least one that is either marginally embarrassing by context ofthe other nerds you share it with (like being a trekkie) or that if you were having a non-nerd over for a hot date you'd put in the closet so as to not have to explain.

My wife and I love pigs, we have tons of stuffed pigs and pig statues. Friends give me little pig toys for my birthday/christmas. I even have a little wooden pig on my cell phone strap.

I have too many hobbies... but I guess it would be my collections of Pixar Pez dispensers, fun Hot Wheels (skull paint jobs, Vintage Bat Mobiles, etc) erm...what else..

Probably my biggest nerdy hobby is my collection of over 1,000 ebm/industrial/stompy stompy albums. Yea, Im'a fan of hard copy.

I collect rocks from pretty much everywhere I visit - something left in my psyche from taking geology classes in college, and now responsible for half a garage of shelving.

..and no, I have never used "do you wanna see my rock collection?" as any even-vague form of chat up line.

I don't have many hobbies, I devote most of my time to making music, of course my expansive knowledge of music theory and synthesizer programming probably qualifies as nerdy, but at least it's useful.

I collect items from movies: Alien, Dark Crystal, Labyrinth and childhood toys. I use Excel Spreadsheets to organize my clothing. I like to make "to do" and such lists. I like dinosaurs and creatures. Maybe I'm not that nerdy.

My ex and his roomates had an entire room set up for Warhammer 40K, they had a huge as table, almost as big as the room decked out for the game. It was actually a pretty neat set-up.

Lawn bowls. Especially with Glen, Olivia and their nurse. And have nearly as much fun as them.


This is a fine hobby. At the bowls clubs you can invariably buy cheap drinks plus have one hand free to take advantage of this while bowling. A lot of 'em don't mind you putting on bands and stuff there as well. Day or night.

I play-test roleplaying games for my friend. A group of us pile over to his house every fortnight or so and he tries out the rules/game system for his own RPGs. He has a High Fantasy one (along with a war game), Victorian Horror one, Present-day Sci-Fi one and a Future Sci-Fi one.

Since he's lost the character sheets for the High Fantasy one we were doing, we've started on the Present-day Sci-Fi one. We're all genetically engineered humans with alien DNA implanted to boost certain attributes (strength, speed, intelligence, psychic ability)

Nah, I've always taken the domination route there. Like, "hey, baby, how does it make you feel that I am into [insert horribly nerdy activity] and you still want me?"

I just saw a John Waters routine where he said that, if you have someone over at your house and they aren't into you having books around, "don't fuck 'em."

Honestly, I've always had fairly eclectic interests. Moved a lot and easily entertained and easily bored, I guess. So, no matter where I am, there is something I am into which does not fit. I'm, like, alienated and stuff.

I'd say the nerdiest is either manga/anime or mmorpgs..or written RPG....probably written rpg but i don't really do that much anymore. I'm mainly about anime and manga right now.

i cant wait for ra3.. i preordered c&c3: kanes wrath for the pc(which is awesome btw) and some time in september i will be able to participate in the beta testing for ra3.. ....i never really got into starcraft.. but i might end up getting sc2 when it comes out..

DoctorZ- I'm a huuuuge RTS nerd but I prefer turn based strategy. I'm flogging Sins of a Solar empire through it's paces right now, and am anxiously awaiting Halo Wars. I've played all the C&C's, the Middle earth ones, all the warcrafts (except I FUCKING HATE MMORPGS WITH A FUCKING LIVING PASSION), Supreme Commander, ect. Ooh World in Conflict is great if you have a system that can run it.

I don't play alot of RTS, even though I love it. Mainly because as soon as I get into it, I get an idea based off it to write a book about. I've gotten ideas from Homeworld 2, Starcraft, Red alert 2, and all the other games I've played. I'm thinking of just merging them into one idea and going with it. Sound interesting?

Writing and photography are my other nerdoms.

The gamplay is good, ya. The factions are different enough that if your not good at one, you can be good at the others. And it's really fun. Go pick up SC!!!
