I personally find them sexy. In movies and fiction, that is. I have no attraction whatsoever to people who pretend to be vampires, or people who dress the part.
And now I have to say this. Yay for Edward Cullen
i agree..the people who call themselves "vampyres" are kind of off-putting..but i'm all for a good vampy book or movie..especialy if kate beckinsale's in ti ;]
Fuck yeah, Kate's a freaking hot Vamp.
I have nothing but that fanboy comment. Move along.
Yeah...I don't think you're going to get a nay on this topic over in this part of the web.
Pretend vamps in fictional settings are fine. Fang-tards or blood fetishist of all types are usually just icky.
Fang-Tards... That was beautiful Joel. You've coined a phrase.Originally Posted by Joel Awesome

I come from an older generation and was doning Victorian corsets, frock coats and antique jewelry when most of these Vamp kids were still in diapers or not even shivering into existance yet. I first slipped into this name when i was in my early teens and the Vampire-Goth aestetic was part of my 'becoming'..... it helped form out the creative, artistic person that i am today.
It just seems to me that the Cool is becoming Un-Cool because of constant exploitation and just getting plain worn out. Its kind of like when 'The Crafte' came out and suddenly all of these young teenage girls started running around in black Lip- Service clothing and purple lipstick claiming they were witches. Witch Crafte is not about throwing glamours and butterflies decending from the sky.....nor is the Vampire Aestetic about drinking blood from donors and claiming that you'll be respected or you'll seek revenge. Vampirism used to be about gothic romantism....now it's becoming so god-damned costumy and well, Yes, as Joel said: Fang-Tarded (laughs)
Are Vampires hot? Sure. But one has to admit, there's quite a bit of shlock involved in the culture as well~
Lil
wow thanx lil an intelligent coment ;]
Hmm! See, I took, possibly wrongly, Joel's statement to also be about those kids 'in the scene' that not only dress badly, but also seem to be convinced they are Vampires For Real, not just baby-bats who've taken a wrong turn in the Wal Mart Halloween isle. ^_^Originally Posted by VampireLily
I have the accent down. That seems to be enough for some vamp-fans to spout off. People that are serious about it ... dunno ... live and let live. Not my thing. Having read some of the slavic takes on em made it less romantic though too. (Try The Darkling by Perkowski if ye must de-fetishize)
OEC
Fang-tard in my opinion means Spooky Douchbag with or without fangs. However having fangs in your mouth _almost_ guarantees that your a fang-tard unless you're fucking rad. I'm pretty sure I coined the term in response to the increasingly bizzare behavior of intermittent friend of mine Vampire Don (http://www.vampiredon.net/ or a better one http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/Don_Henrie).Originally Posted by Wickedanima
It's also possible to be a fang-tard just by dint of being a goofy kid having too much fun with eyeliner and bondage pants that you could kidnap midgets in.
Ahh! Then we were at least on a similar track. Again, Fang-Tard is precisely the correct and appropriate term.Originally Posted by Joel Awesome
There are quite a few of these whack jobs wandering around thinking they're really vampires. My only statement is: If you're actually drinking blood and traipsing around hissing at people with the thought that you're immortal...then chances are there's not enough therapy available for you.Originally Posted by Wickedanima
As for dressing badly..they also ACT badly. Trying to be menacing and sinister makes you more of a douche and less of a vamp.
i find them amusing tbh. i'm a bastard that way and poke fun
well, everybody needs a hobby!Originally Posted by Head Wreck

Whenever I think of vampires I think..Lost Boys. So yea.. Hot!
Fang- tards..not so hot.
But I do like to bite!
Olix, Igor Spectre- Fangs out first comes to mind
agreed, I'm over it.. wearing edwardian or victorian stuff doesn't make you a vampire either, that stuff is pretty cool by itself just for what it is.Originally Posted by Bikerpunk

bwahahahahaha! I almost mentioned anne rice in my post. good call dude.Originally Posted by Ed Mironiuk
Poppy Z. Brite had a really interesting take on vampires, and I'm glad she wrote Lost Souls, not only cause I liked it as a book and it captured a time, place and counterculture, but it also refined and built on the Lost Boys redefining predation as an urban, gang, outsider thing rather than an aristocrat-on-poor or suchlike context.

There is an interesting vampire vid on youporn.com. I bet you will like it. I won't post the link unless it's allowed as this isn't the erotica forum but you can search for it easy enough.Originally Posted by masochistic-4ngel
