Do you eat a special diet by choice? If so, what and why? Examples of special diets would be low carb, high protein, low calorie, low fat, low salt, vegetarian (low meat?), organic, no dairy, no wheat etc.

i'm on the everything diet...whenever i cut anything out i crave it more than anything. so i dont cut anything out.
A vegetarian "diet" would not consist of low meat, but no meat.
I eat whatever the hell I want, though it's usually limited to two or three crappy choices that don't taste very good anyway so I have to have ice cream or something to get the taste out of my mouth...
Otherwise, in the states, it's the low price diet. If it's cheap and tastes decent, it goes into my stomach.
I love food too much to cut anything out. I have a pretty good metabolism so thankfully I don't need to diet. And I couldn't imagine being lactose intolerant or have any kinda weird stomach problems where I couldn't eat spicy food. I don't think I could do it.
I just happen to like macaroni and butter, I'm not really a big fan of food.............
still waiting for the food pills
I eat just about anything. cept seafood. *shutters* gross
Xavia and I try to eat organic and vegan. However, we do eat fish and seafood.
vegetarian but would like to go fruitarian
Im on a sea food diet. I see food then eat it.
Oh and there are about 200 fruitarians in Australia
I can only eat whatever I'm craving. Anything else makes me nauseous. Usually I keep the lactose to a minimum, the salt, sugar and high fructose corn syrup also. Just because it's better for me and my system prefers it. I don't argue with my stomach, I like it to like me.

I'm also a vagetarian.
I am trying to make a lot of conscious choices about my diet, but it is more increasing and decreasing certian things.
I have decided to decrease the meat I eat by about 10%, maybe more later but i have no intention of stopping entirely. I have also decided to try a lot harder to eat 5 sevings of fruits and veggies a day. But I deny myself nothing. If I desire it I can have it, even if I choose to moderate the bad stuff.
To many people get hung up in all or nothing diets where they decide basic foodstuffs are bad and cut it out entirely. Like the one guy said, "eat, not too much, mostly greens." Or something close.
I do a mostly organic diet, omnivore.
who could blame you? seafood in maine is the shiznit.Originally Posted by Valerian Reign

i like "low-meat" that's awesome.
i don't eat meat other than seafood.
because once i tasted sushi, it was all over for me. u_u
I prefer a low meat diet. I can not have spicy foods 'cause it thrashes my stomach and makes me nauseous for days.
I'll eat what I like. Not giving a shit anymore, I'm letting myself go.
Eating what you like doesn't mean you're letting yourself go. It's called moderation. But, you already knew that
Nah, I'm letting myself go.
what: high protein, but more on the organic side and I like going to local butcher. lot of package meat are loaded up salt..I have little or no vegs. Carnivore
why: not so much being overweight, but more of the fact. It does not allow me to do that thing I want to do in life. yet other reason my personal Insurance is High, its costing to much out of pocket
Did macrobiotics on and off for years. I'm going to have to change my dietary habits again. Been eating out way too much.
OEC
Right now I'm doing a "low carb" diet. I've also Cut out sugars and High Fructose Corn Syrup. Trying to eat whole grains. I've lost 26 pounds since the beginning of the year by doing this.
Morning Star that really kicking ass!!!
low carb works... just before thanks giving I was about 80lbs down.. Holidays can and went back up 30lbs.. and here I am back the basic trying to make up for that.
Grandmothers home cooking... its hard to say no
Thanks! I've got another 25 pounds to go. I gained a lot over the past few years and finally got off my ass and did something about it.Originally Posted by Bacchus88
Also cutting back on the drinking helps. Good luck!
You forgot sour human breast milk.
You're not my father! Don't tell me what to do!
i usually always diet..i dont drink soda, i dont eat anything "fattening" nothing with sugar, no fast food, i do eat meat and thats about all ill eat that's "bad" because i love me some steak (i'm mexican) and i'll just stop eating anything that's really high calorie and bread and chips and pretty much everything that's a snack. When i really get into a diet, i just eat plan turkey cooked in PAM canola oil and sometimes ill get a turkey breast sanndwhich from SUbway with the least conidments as possible, and lots and lots of WATER!!!!! (i used to do this and drink coffee every day but I heard that it was only making me feel like shit by some vitamin D defiency or something like that and that it was bad for me, so i kinda stopped doing that every day and just taking coffee in moderation) but lastely i broke that ive been drinking sugar free redbulls but ive also broken any diets right now and ive been eating almost anything
I kinda eat The Zone, but I don't eat meat or grains. So basically I just eat veggies. Wowo, that sure sounds pathetic said out loud.
I used to be a vegetarian for 4 months of my life.
But it made me horribly sick.
I guess that was kind of dumb of me either way because i am a natural meat eater.
Now i just watch what i eat, like sugary shit etc.
My metabolism is ridiculously fast though.
Im only 20 now, but i know when i decide to have kids one day or even the fact of age, i dont want to get huge or unhealthy.
So i think its best younger people watch what they eat no matter how fast their metabolism because you dont want to look back and be like "god damn if i didnt eat that entemanns pie"
XD
I eat mostly organic produce and free-range/no hormone/vegetarian fed animal products by choice.
I do not eat gluten (found in wheat, rye, barley, most oats) nor dairy because it makes me sick.
I feel amazing now that I know to avoid these foods. More and more people are becoming intolerant to gluten, dairy, soy, and corn.
