i was thinking something more like this.....

(it was a childhood dream of mine to be a ball turret gunner((the ball on the bottom)only the bravest of men went in those positions, they were always the guys who died first, once in the ball you were locked in,so basically you were fucked, but they were hero's)

    here's the turret:

    http://www.rose.edu/EOCRHC/images/photo3.jpg

imagine being 25,000' up in that!,with japs/germans shooting at you left and right.....

or having to watch the ground come at you becuse your landing gear is out,so they have to skid the plane in,whit you on the bottom of the plane....that's suicide....

The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner

From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.

I love WW2 planes and have had the honor of flying in a few though the ones I REALLY want to fly in would require me to be a damn good pilot and sadly...I am not.

But of all the planes created by man (and known to the public)the SR-71 Blackbird is the most amazing.

Of WW2 my favouite will always be the B-17 bomber and the Enola Gay has a place in my heart which I won't go into here cause it'll just spawn another political debate and we need another one of those like we need another troll.

I had a lit teacher rip that apart one time...I came very close to decking her. Not for critiqing it's merit as a written piece of work but for the way she said it lacked emotion. It was a low blow but sadly I didn't have the smarts at the time to take her head on about it. It was my first experiance with a hardline feminist...her label...too bad it wasn't my last. Dunno how her type do it but they sure bring out my misogynist side. (and by "hardline feminist" I mean a woman who sees ALL men as "the enemy"...not the women's right type feminists. I grew up in a house of all women...and all mexican...women's rights was firmly kicked into my head...literally.)

yeah i think a few of us watch way to much of the History channel lol. Since kat brought up his fav fighter, besides the fact that it was a "bad guy" airplane. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is my fav fighter of the seacond world war

of all the planes, famous or no, that falls to My favorite, I would give a arm leg or nut to fly a Fokker Dr.I triplane , as the Red Baron did in WWI
