As I Lay Dying :: Shadows Are Security

A great follow up to their last CD Frail Words Collapse. Shadows Are Security is a bit heavier than their last, a tad more polished, and it still has that As I Lay Dying sound.

My CD reviews suck, and I know it. So lets just get straight to my scoring.

Screaming - Superb. I really enjoy the vocalist. He's very talented and amazing.

Singing - Now I usually don't enjoy singing with my metalcore, or metal for that matter, but the singing is absolutely great, it fits in, and just sounds super good.

Guitars - Creamalicious. Nothing too fancy, but I do enjoy them.

Bass - Doesn't stand out too much, so its hard for me to say, but what I can hear, sounds pretty good.

Drums - Effin' sweet. They go great with the music.

Overall - I HIGHLY recommend this CD to fans of their previous CDs.

I give it a 9.2 our of 10

I honestly thought this cd sucked ass. every single song on it sounds exactly the same. I think it was the transiction from track 3 to 4 when I thought I was listening to the same song the entire time. I don't like the drumming, it sounds too fake for my taste. (like a drum machine. I know it's not)

I agree with you when you say it's more polished off. (espeshily the singing) I guess it was the rough moments in Frail Words Collapse that I enjoyed the most. I was hoping for another "behind me lies another fallen soldier" track atleast.

It's cool that you like it, I'm sure they will have alot of success with this release. Just not for me.
