So a total stranger just asked me to buy them a livejournal account. They intimated that they were using a spoofed untraceable IP and that I could have my studio firebombed or be personally assaulted if I didn't. What the hell is wrong with people?

So far the IPs they have posted with are:

64.12.116.67
172.153.103.21
and 64.12.116.67 again

I am still kind of new to computers, LJ and all the rest, but there is also a person on LJ named miss_all_alone who is infecting dozens of communities with a link to some webcam site. I didnt check it out personally, but Its in gothic_babes, to name one of them. From what Ive read of the posts, avoid it at all costs. *sighs* I wish I understood people better.

Apparently they are all AOL IPs. If this person continues harrassing me, I am going to contact AOL abuse and then contact the appropriate local police department to file a restraining order against whoever this is. I would say that I wish people didn't suck, but really the sucky people are in the minority; they just take up a lot of other people's time and energy. I posted a question about the IPs and explained the situation on a business board I sometimes post on and got the answer about where it was coming from in minutes. That is really awfully cool.

you know whats really funny? I reported that person, as did MANY others in the last half hour, and "her" acct has been suspended. Im happy for the little things. I am however really, REALLY pissed that someone has threatened you in such a nasty way. If I can help, just say how.

Yeah LJ records peoples IP's if you set it to do so...though if they are tech savvy enough they can use other people's IP's. Not an uncommon tactic for the dedicated net creep.
