And WTF is that comment in a reportage, "We believe he was tortured by militia before and that's probably why he did it". Seriously, who's buying that crap!? It's very clear what he said. I understand what you are talking about. But looking at cause of this, what is it? We can say it's invasion of USA on Iraq that brought conflict to Iraq same as we can say it's that Sunni's fault because they favored that other guy for Calif than a Mohammed's cousin for 1400 years ago. well it seems pretty likely that political pressure is going to get this guy off the hook with a small fine or something like that. Which is a good thing. Too bad it was also political pressure that required him to be arrested and roughed up and probably sentenced in the first place.

What it boils down to is that the Iraqi PM has to appear that he represents law and order, but also appear that he doesn't kiss USA's ass. I don't really envy his job.
