Long ago, in ancient 1999 one of my friends went to see 8mm. He complained that in the movie the detective was horrified by pretty tame stuff. I had to sit him down and explain to him that most people did not spend Wednesday nights at dance clubs where everyone wears black and, if you are nice, lesbians will stop and whip you in the back room.

So things may not shock you, but a good portion of the world is still horrified by shit we will consider pretty mundane.

Hell, people once thought Marylin Manson was shocking.
