Default Advice From A Nine Year Old

So I have been hanging out with this really pretty nine year old girl, we went to the zoo and saw penguins, etc. And eventually of course, I started complaining about my horrible boy toys and do you know what she said about them?

"They are just trying to use you for your money and your apartment"!!

Wow, this girl is smart!!!! I think I will ask her for advice all the time...

Children tend to be able to see through ( or not see at all) the bullshit that adults get caught up in. They don't understand the complexities and therfore are not limited by them. My daughter has put me in check more times then I'd like to admit, but I'm very grateful for her wisdom.

Always trust a child to tell the unadulterated truth. When they get older they start thinking about other people's feelings, and it all goes downhill from there.

Children have a gift for brutal unadulated truth.
I try to retain similar tact. I've been known to respond to 'Do I look fat in this?' with yes..

Depends how a person frames the question. When someone asks 'Do I look fat in this?' I am equally honest. When they ask 'Does this make me look fat?' I tend to answer 'No, it's all the cream cakes and chocolate'.

Personally I don't see how garments of clothing make people look larger. I've heard vertical lines have a 'slimming' effect.. *shrugs*

    god doesnt' anybody read cosmo

you are supposed to say no but then recomend something else... (no but i think the red pants would look better)
this distracts her from her worries of being overweight while showing that you care and are paying attention...

so not only do you avoid a tricky situation but you score brownie points as well...

I have also noticed that children have much greater insight than adults.

The insight of an innocent mind. It changes, though, mainly through the influence of adults!
