Weird question.

I'm doing a freelance illustration gig and I need to draw a fiddler crab dealing with occult themes (just don't ask) I've got him sitting at a table with curtains in the background and he's dealing tarot with candles on the table. But the piece still looks pretty bare. Any other suggestions?

Crystal ball? Where do fiddler crabs live? Coral maybe? Dead starfish?

As for the location, it's a weird juxtaposition They're supposed to be in the regular human land world most of the time. There's no pineapple under the sea aspect to it.

me neither, except from what I've seen in movies, lol. try hanging flowy fabric printed with stars and moons. the candle idea is good too.

The Moon card usually features a crayfish coming out of the water. This have anything to do with that?

Also, how about some alchemy apparatus? Alembics and the like.

I don't now, it sounds like it won't be good to cram too much stuff in there and make it all cluttered. Since the crab is presumably supposed to be the focus, keep the detail there. the background is just that.

Yeah, I'm not overwhelming it. I just didn't want it to be just a crab sitting at a table dealing cards. The cards are too small to draw tarot symbols on so it could be anywhere from a fortune teller's place to a blackjack table in vegas without the right detail
