Honey is ok in taste.... but I LOVE THE WAY it makes me ...smell.

Ever noticed it? (of course you've not noticed my smell.....lol but have you had a similar situation in your world)

what type of honey are we talking about? the usual clover kind you can find anywhere? i personally love organic "white honey." seems to only be made in limited amounts in Hawaii, from bees that have gathered nectar from 'kiawe' trees. it sells for about $15 US for a 8 ounce jar; plus whatever shipping is. i happened apon it at a fancy bistro on long island like 5 years ago. it toook until recently to find their website: http://www.volcanoislandhoney.com

I've got golden honey, wildflower I think.
I read in the secret life of bees that sometimes when theres a drought the bees will find elderberries (being dark purple) and will lick up their juice... and make purple honey!!! I'd love to try the white honey.

Isnt there a hagen daas ice cream vanilla with some kind of special honey? Is it similar to the white one? Just curious.

Honey flavors do vary depending on the flower nectar they collect.
I think honey has more health benefits than is currently known about.

yeah, the white honey tastes extremely unque and different from normal, golden honey. as to the health benefits of honey, it is used on bandages in asia and europe to treat burns and wounds. but it requires are unusually potent honey that comes from 'manuka' trees from new zealand. according to a recent issues of national geographic.

If you suffer from HayFever, eating the honey from a local hive will help you because the honey will have been made from the same plants that are causing the allergy.

hmm. How often do they use the cyanide to kill the bees? is it just for disease infected hives, or is that a routine policy for typical honey harvesting? I was under the impression that bees were rarely harmed in the extraction process.

that disturbs me. I don't eat honey very often, but I think from now on I'm going to switch to agave nectar.

I know I have a heightened sense of smell....I'm just wondering if anyone notices this reaction.

im a smoker so my sense of smell is kind of deadened. and i really only had a tiny bit, like a spoonful, at a time.

Oic... I can relate, I smoked for 8 yrs... it was the hardest thing I ever did was give it up, I still dream I'm a smoker, esp in the girls bathroom at school, fanning the smoke, and passing it underneath the stall to share it.

i have either a very acute sense of smell (can smell chocolate from the other side of the room for example), or extremely non existent. part of the migraines i suffer from. i can empathise a bit. (though the sight of an ashtray is the only thing i know that will spoil my appetite).

propolis is very very nice stuff to keep about. used to use it on burns from when i used to do welding, some medical staff were amazed how quick this stuff heals wounds

erm. i have to agree. their painless migraines but there's the risk of setting them of major, which can lead to all sorts of nightmarish symptoms.

the smell is sometimes a blessing, but the hearing and colour perception also get affected similarly.
its good to listen in on people whispering the other side of a crowded talkative room (very handy when i was involved in a lobbying group leasing with MP's), the colour perception for picking out people wearing camoflauge as the greens look very different then even at range.

sense of smell. there are some collegues that make me wish i could cut my nose off at times. yet the chocolate thing is handy (i am addicted, i admit that much), the aroma of absinthe done properly, a fresh box of loose leaf tea, this years crop of roses in the garden.

Please explain a bit more into detail if you dont mind, I'm having a hard time following what a painless migraine is...and what kind of nightmarish symptoms are you referring to. (I'm asking because I really do care)

I'm hearing deficient... so I'm unaware how they fit together.

I have impeccable distinguishing qualities with my sense of smell..
Thats why I brought up the honey thread... Note in the future, have a friend or a partner eat several spoonfuls of honey for a couple days in a row, and see how much difference it makes.

I use a wild honey body spray i absolutely love...not exactly the same thing but thought I would throw that in.
