    Default Thoughts on Soap Operas?

On occasion they are interesting, but I generally HATE them.

Your thoughts/Rants/ ways to make this into a decent discussion? **

i used to watch passions, but it just got ridiculous.

my grandma was a giant general hospital freak, i remember when i was little i'd be on the phone with her and she'd yell "gh" and hang up on me.

Although I am not a tv person at all, I've come across soaps a few times and I know how addictive they can be - one of my children actually cried when she came to visit because a traffic accident which held us up meant that she missed the episode that evening! I find many of the plots unbelieveable and the reactions of the various actors to these plots and to the other characters stunted and wooden.

Not exactly a new idea. I think it was Dallas that had a whole section of the series revealed as a dream of one main character just so that they could bring back a dead character who upped the ratings again.

I am convinced that soap operas are part of an eleborate plan to brainwash all of us.

They make their absurdities become realities.

    Beware.

    My favourite is Corination Street.

Soap was hilarious Obviously, it mocked out soaps in general. I really never got into the actual soap operas. BH 90210 dubbed in Ukrainian is the shit tho
