My boyfriend and I got a pretty bad bug around the middle of Dec. I think it was mostly due to a 3 hour outside photo shoot in Chicago. I was wearing a corset with nothing covering my shoulders in 30-35 degree weather. My boyfriend was wearing a thin coat. He had to take a day or two off of work and school to recuperate. Yeah, it gets pretty nasty at this time of year. I suggest getting a lot of Vitamin C. I've stocked up on Orange juice..

Nudemuse and myself have been on these for the past couple months and haven't been sick at all... even with being around all the other 'infected' folks we know. Although I'm not getting a kickback from the company, I should... I have to say they work amazingly well and all natural besides.

the flu shot works well too. i accually got one this year, and its the first year i havent gotten sick.

Flu shots have always made me sick, due to chemical sensitivity ... rather deal with having the flu for a week than be sick from the shot for a month or more. Out of the last ten years of not getting the shot, I've only gotten the flu twice... I'll stick with the natural alternatives at this point.

This is actually the first year in a long time I haven't gotten some debilitating illness at the start of winter. This is also the first year in some time that I have not had to get any shots done for whatever reason. I don't think this is a coincidence.

Girl, where the heck did you lose ten pounds from? Sounds like an awful way to spend the holiday season. Get well soon.

I usually catch everything that is going around, but I haven't had any major colds this winter. I think it is probably because I couldn't easily go anywhere on the crutches, so maybe they are kind of a blessing in disguise.

The sickest Ive EVER been came 3 days after getting the 1 Flu Shot Ive ever had. I was at college and decided to brave up (I HATE needles) and get one... I was out of commission for almost 3 weeks!!! The first 2 days weren't too bad, but I woke up on day three feeling like a six pack of ass. 2 weeks off of school/work, I could make it out of bed and get to the shitter and back before I was out of energy/strength. Lost 22 lbs (no joke!) cause I could hold nothing down or in (I know....T.M.I.). I swore off the flu shot then and there. My job keeps trying to make me get one, but in 5 and a half years at this job Ive taken a total of 4 sick days, so I tell 'em to get bent whenever they bring it up. As soon as everyone around me starts getting sick, I load up on Echinacea, Zinc, and Vitamin C. I might get the sniffles, but nothing like what everyone arould me gets. Really pisses people off too, cause I smoke, eat like shit, and dont get NEARLY enough sleep. Everyone around me is taking bets when I'm gonna come down with SARS, and I end up the only one healthy (?)

I wasn't going to get a flu shot, I've never had one in my life. However, the firm offering them for 10 Euro turned up and the people who had booked the shots didn't, so I got it free; otherwise they'd have had to throw the stuff away.

I haven't been ill since 1982 (ankle problem) unless you count the time in hospital having a bullet removed in 1987, and before that it was just the normal childhood illnesses. I've met others like me who haven't been ill in years too - there was one man the week before last who commented on his lack of sick days. He's been a vegetarian for a mere 25 years compared to my 31, though, so he's a newcomer to this not being sick stuff.
