    Default Extending Nail Polish Wear

Has anyone seen those sponge wedge sanders that is used to sand dry wall and of course other things as well...

It works better than the sheets of sand paper, and they last forever.

The point of my topic is ... one day I ran out of nail polish remover, so I used the sander on my toes to gently remove the polish like a gentle nail file, like an emery board. BUT way more durable... and more gentle.

I washed my toes of the excess powered material ... and painted my nails.
You know how they tell you to score/rough up a surface between coats of paint to get them to adhere better ... well, thats how this works.

My nail polish didnt chip, and stayed on FOREVER.

It also makes the nail surface smoother too.
I've used the same sander now for a couple of years. Seriously.

I never put nail polish on without scruffing the surface up first.

(this doesnt reflect my LOVE of chipped nail polish ... I has a certain look I love as well, but if I want my polish to STAY on, I do what I described above)

Try it, and tell me what you think.

next time instead of sanding your nails down, try a product by OPI called bond aid. that shit fucking WORKS! you have to go to a good beauty supply to get it... larchmont in L.A. carries it.

Do you have a 'space, I'd like to add ya if you're kewl with it.

My aunt in Michigan owns a salon that carries it, they have such yummy shades, in every sort of fashion, matte color metal and tons of hue's.

bond aid is something you put on your nails before polishing them It's a ph balancer. it makes nail polish stick for a long time. I have oily nail beds and therefore use it before polishing my nails every time..... that stuff works. Bondaid rules...........

oh yeah, my "space" is www.mysp*ace.com/danielle_voltaire send me a message with your add request, so I know who you are other wise just let add requests sit there if i don't know who they are......

scuffing is good if you want to make latex paint stick to old oil paint too.......except 60 grit from a floor sander is best for that

Great tips! I love my nails when they are painted and I hate when they chip after a day or two. I think I may pick up some of that Opi Bond Aid. I only have a few Opi colors though, seeing as they are about $10 a bottle, and I'm super cheap.

when my youngest sister gets bored she often decides to paint my nails, so shell sneak up beside me and just start painting a nail pink. and since i dont particularly give a shit (and/or am very drunk) i just let her do it unless shes getting in the way of whatever im doing. so i end up with bright pink fingernails (oh so goth - and yes its always bright pink). which is cool if it wasnt for the fact that i forget theyre done and dont notice until the next day, an hour before work, and cant find any nail polish remover...

it takes ages to scratch that shit off...
