Default Would you play dodgeball for work?

I just found out that a business event I was planning to go to is going to feature dodgeball games.

When I was in second grade, I taught a Japanese boy to read English. The first English words he was comfortable saying in public were "You out!" in dodgeball. Because I liked working with Seiko, I feel a mild positive association with this.

I also enjoyed the movie with Vince Vaugn and Ben Stiller well enough.

But DODGEBALL? Now? For grown-ass real-life businesspeople??? WTF?

Seems quite juvenille to me as well. I suppose it's a way to relieve stress? Let's just hope you are in a shitty mood when it's time to play so you can knock some fuckers in the head. There's probably rules like, no face shots just body ... this is too much.Lmao.

It seems on (hehe) par with corporate golf playing.

I used to make money off dodgeball. When I was in elementary school I'd charge a quarter to trade and go out for people.

heck i would play dodgeball for food

but that is only cause i can throw hard

it sounds like a liability nightmare for a company to do that

    nose jobs cost alot

and i've never seen proper penalties for head hunting

Yea sure, we did it at my work last year. It sucked being hit hard by a full grown man though, my ribs were hurting afterwards.

Dodgeball can be fun and all, but with the people from work it could get... personal. I mean, remember your last review? I do.

As fun as it would be I think my first day of work related dodsge ball would be my last day of work.

I'm thinking about bagging. I just found out that the event someone I work with tore his knee up at last year was dodgeball. I think I was even told that it happened playing dodgeball and, it just seemed so implausible that I repressed that part.

I would do it, but I have a mean streak and would enjoy inflicting pain upon anyone who might have annoyed me in the past at work.

that just seems really weird to me, playing dodgeball at a business event. i would play witht he people i work with tho, cause they're cool and all, but then again, it wouldn't be any sort of "business-related" thing.... i dunno.

Dodgeball Game Leads to Assault Charges

LIBERTY, Mo. (AP) - A youth minister was charged with assault for allegedly knocking a 16-year-old boy down and kicking him in the groin after taking a head shot from the teen in a dodgeball game.

David M. Boudreaux, 27, was charged Wednesday with one count of third-degree assault. According to court documents, the incident happened in February at Crescent Lake Christian Academy.

Authorities said the teen missed Boudreaux with one throw but then knocked the youth minister's glasses off with the next.

The boy apologized, authorities said, but Boudreaux pushed him backward, and when the teen got up again, Boudreaux kicked him in the groin and left.

The teen suffered whiplash and post-concussion syndrome and had blood in his urine after being kicked, according to court records.

    Boudreaux later apologized, prosecutors said.

Jeanne D. Hewitt, administrator of Crescent Lake Christian Academy, said Boudreaux had been placed on administrative leave.
