Captain Murphy................. I translated "it's like a koala bear crapped a rainbow in my brain" into French...... it's on the door to my dorm. Sucks that the guy that played him died.

Yeah, Captain Murphy was My favorite character on the show. How did he die?

Well the man who voiced him...the insanely talented Harry Goz died last year of cancer at the age of 71.

It's rare that ANY artist makes an impact on a generation outside their own...let alone the most current one. He did...his comedic timing and ability to make the most simple lines utterly hilarious has etched scenes into the minds of anyone who saw the show...I dare ANYONE to watch the work he did on that show and not walk away with some memory that makes you laugh to yourself down the line....

I still laugh every time I think of the episde where he hangs out with "Hallow Gram". He's missed....greatly.

His son Michael Goz now does the voice of the new captain...who is in his own way hilarious and really shows a lot of his dads talent. Voice actors may not get much praise but these days amoung their fans they are greatly appreciated...should be interesting to see what develops down the line.

Side note....if you're a Fox news fan or listen to Bloomberg you'd be shocked to see who plays Stormy....good ole Ellis Henican. The white haired uber-opinionated journalist and commentator. He pops up a lot on O'Reily's show and Hannity & Colmes. Interesting guy in his own right...you'd never guess he does the voice for such an insane character.
