Weren't the Vikings just... like... Proto-Pirates? they spent about a century making hit-and-run attacks on northern britain before working up the courage to actually invade. they'd come in, raid a few towns, r^pe a bit, pillage a bit, quaff anything they could find, stay just long enough to bring in the harvest then scarper before the locals got their act together. sounds fairly pirate-like to me...

They were super pirates. They realized that they had to use tactics in their battles, due to little in the way of numbers, so they became strategic masterminds. They also had just about the coolest gods/ships/drink ever.

‘Ninja pirates’ are traitorous swine suckers who shall be the first to be eliminated via plank walking under the new skull & crossbones regime.

Ninjas will cause the death of several of our founding fathers but the personality of the pirate will prevail; for this is their key strength. While they will render flesh from their ninja foes with cutlass and sabre, break their bones with canon and hand grenade, it shall be their talented drunkenness and humorous personality which will smite the bland & faceless ninja scum most severely.

I see a land free from abject assassins, a land free from men who attempt to jump from rooftop to rooftop only to fail and become bloody human stains on the pavement below time & time again.

All seafaring men (& their monkeys and parrots) shall forever drink and be merry!!

but i have seen the unhappy human stains where your kind have so often fallen from the sky while trying to do some special aerodynamic superkick from a rooftop that just wont work.

Unbelievers! I've pulled off every kick and flip there is, you are just watchin the imposters, which is unwise, since we are all around you.

And we do to know how to drink! Sake! Or...habu sake. *shivers*
