The best idea is to just tell the guy to get over it, and move on.

As long as you react to the things he says, then it shows him you
still care what he says. If you can show him that you really have
moved on, and really don't give a shit, then maybe he will learn
to let go, and he will move on too.

But the only way to do that is to ignore him.
And when you do have to talk to him, don't get mad or upset.
Just look at him like a loser you do not care to have around.
Deal with things as a business transaction.
Don't give him any drama to feed on.
Lack of emotion, and lack of reaction, is the best way to get him to go away.
Even if you have to get a restraining order, etc, just do it without emotion.
The more you keep getting involved in drama with him,
the longer it will take for you both to be over this, move on, etc...

People, this is why you should not have babies right away...
It's a lot harder to get assholes out of your life, if you have a baby.
Wait until you know 100% that you have a good relationship with someone.

Restraining orders work wonders, darling. If you let this asshat get to you he'll own you. Also a large mean dog in the yard is a fabulous deterrant. I'd bust his balls for you darling but teasing the animals doesn't make them go away, jsut makes them harrass you more. And if all else fails kick him in the balls and fill his gas tank full of sugar.

id est: the kinds of people who obey restraining orders don't need restraining. it's usually the insanely angry fuckers1, the drunks, the psychotic speed-freaks and the crack-heads.

Well actually I don't condone putting anything in a gas tank except gas either. I grew up in my dad's garage and really love cars esp ones that go fast. but seriously, kick him in the balls. And restraining orders are documentation that the guy is a known threat so that if he shows up or harrasses you again you cna call the cops and they'll just haul him off instead of tellign him to go home and you to relax. I have liek 6 restraining orders out on psychos and not one of them has bothered me since.
