Is it just me or almost all the banners on this site all porn?
My girlfriend pointedit out and I found it humourous.
You would think there would be like cool clothing sites and stuff on there to but nope just porn and contacts.

maybe thats because Blue Blood was an Erotica magazine
There is a MAJOR difference between Porn, Erotic Art, and Similar Stuff. **

I LOVE Porn also, but there IS a difference. **
Porn 'n chicken lol.
I didnt know blue blood was an erotica magazine, that may explain alot of things.
There is a very distinct difference between art and porn, I must agree BrightStar.
What there is is erotica and not porn and there are magazine sites and there are clothing sites as well. Not that there is anything wrong with porn, but that just is not the subject of what we do here or what we like to promote here. We don't even allow any nudity on the banners. And, yes, clothing and magazines sites have both tried to put it on there too.
We lose a bunch of money running this site. Forrest and I do it because we love it, but the dough has to come from somewhere, ya know. A lot of it just comes out of our pockets, but I hear we take good naked pictures too
The best thing you can do is tell your favorite designers who have web sites and your favorite cool stores to support the scene by advertising on BlueBlood.net and the best way for them to do that is by swinging by BuzzClick.com because they do our ad sales now.
Blue Blood has had some great advertisers over the years in print and online and at events, but it has only been because people really enjoyed our products and wanted to support what we do, as I totally suck at selling advertising. Some of our sponsors have included Azrael's Accomplice, Epitaph Records, Cleopatra Records, Cargo Records, Masquerade Books, Hot Topic, Lip Service, Retail Slut, Shrine Clothing, Comatose Rose, Gothic Beauty, Skin Two, Lechuza Clothing, and bunches of other cool folks. I don't want to forget anyone and the list is long, so I'll stop here. Basically, I just want to say that I really appreciate the support Blue Blood gets.
Looks like my main point already got made for me while I was typing. Thanks guys.
I think Blueblood needs a fried chicken Banner! A Fried Chicken place needs to advertise on here! Folowed By Porn for suicidal tendancies.
Well AmeliaG We love the site and hopefully it'll stay up for a very very very very long time!
Hmmm, A site where Naked People Cook... Bwuahahahahahahhhaah
A site where naked people cook chicken
I hear you now Like I said, you are both amazing for keeping at it for so long. We all should find ways to contribute thru networking and/or finance.Originally Posted by AmeliaG

Uhm, that was roughly the time of the relaunch of of BlueBlood.net when we debuted the new look and features, but Blue Blood has been around since approx 1992 and online since I think 1994ish.Originally Posted by Nightingale
Fun fact: I don't know if this is true or not, but I've heard that that Porn and Chicken movie was based on the university I went to.
That was suprisingly good for a TV flick...Originally Posted by AmeliaG
Yeah I remember when I first ran into this site waaaaaaaaaay back when we were all gearing up for the apocalypse of Y2K.
It was kinda funny that I ran into the sites and both yours and forrests LJ's in very seperate ways and took me MONTHS to make the connection you two ran the sites...looking back now it's pretty obvious but at the time I was dense about it. I always get a silly kick out of that.
Yup: the first listed membership here was 21 March; I didn't look further back than that.Originally Posted by AmeliaG

the archive articles dating from 1999 could be a clue too
Blue Blood changed my life and it was well before 1999 that it did so
I could indeed, but since the reference appeared to be exclusively to this board ... I thought I'd stick with that.Originally Posted by karyn

Actually there isn't. It's only the negative connotations that have been attirbuted to it, that has caused us the need to differentiate them, understandably.Originally Posted by BrightStar

See the thing with that is that one would have to buy into the notion that anything with nudity or sexual overtones is porn or erotic art. I don't think it's so much the negative connotations that caused one to seprate them so much as the need to for the sake of growth. Every artform has their genre's and styles and are simply too broad to keep them under one umbrella anymore. The same thing has happened in this case...so one would have a tough time say putting Hustler wannabe pron mags in the same area as say some of blueblood stuff.Originally Posted by Morning Glory
At least the way I like to look at it is like an art student and pro...they can each work with the same content but without that developed sense of style and technical skill you'll only get so much. It's nothing new to take old conventions and genres then reinvent or reinterperat them. I think blueblood and other modern artists, sites, etc. have taken what was labeled as "porn" and really broken it up into a suprising amount of variety, styles, and genres.
